Warranty Question help please.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just come off the phone now with Seat Whitedove in Cardiff for an issue related to paint bubbling on 3 of the 4 alloy wheels on my wifes car. I placed the claim in person 2 weeks ago and was told I'd get a call within a week to confirm what the outcome would be. The car was booked in for this Friday 24th to get the work done but as of Monday this week I'd heard nothing. I chased them up yesterday and today to no avail and have been advised not to bring the car in on Friday so to waste my time. I have now been told the manager will give me a call to discuss the issue at some point today blah blah blah!!!

It is a 10 plate and has a full extended warranty until the start of September but originally June, so just over a week! Can anyone comment from experience why they are so slow in letting me know what Seat have decided to do i.e. are they using delay tactics so that the original warranty expires and don't have to honour the warranty or are the dealers genuinely just busy and forgetful?

Would you push for 4 new rims or except an offer for refurbishment, where do I stand legally?

Cheers,

Matt.

You have pointed out the claim before the warranty expired so the claim is still valid ( provided they have a record of your complaint )

Cheers for that. They do indeed have a record of the claim so I'm hoping they suggest 4 new rims otherwise the one that's ok will age before the new ones or even bubble at a later date. I've not been given the option yet mind but I will be pushing for new all round.
