Hi Nackuk - cool set of photos - what is the mod you've done to your air filter housing - is it an attempt to sort out a vibration or similar?

Yes it was to get rid of vibration from it. Works as well. All it is is half a rubber lined pipe clip which pushes down on it.

Geez so what gimp designed the air filter box!?! No more knuckles trying to squeeze that huge filter in there.

I notice that the OEM filter I removed (audi badged) seems quite a bit better built than the Bosch version I bought from ECP. The original had a firmer surround and ridges glued to the front and back to maintain the geometry of the filter. The Bosch is comparatively very floppy, and it is quite difficult to get in the filter box without the furthest edge of the filter sinking below where it should sit.

I also see some clown has lost the front bottom clip off the air filter housing before I've got there GRRR! That's me doing it myself from now on...

Can the clip be bought separately or is it a whole housing job?
