Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, so I'm very sorry if I have posted this question in the wrong section.

Could anyone answer me this?

I have just lifted the bonnet on my 07 Octavia 1.9 TDi , it has recently be serviced, but i noticed the air intake at the front grill the lid was loose ( not airbox the part before the airbox) so i took it off and then clicked it back into place again, thing I noticed, and was hoping someone could tell me was there was no filter in this small part, not even sure if there should be, also you can see right through it from the grill ! Is the airflow suppose to just pass straight through ? Now im just not sure if this is correct or not or I have a bit missing from the assembly.

There isn't supposed to be. It's designed to prevent water/snow intake but not to filter per se. The filtering is done by a paper filter in the air filter box.

just as above, its just not been clicked back in place after service easily forgotten to do.

As long as they remembered to put the sump plug back in correctly

Not a laughing matter really I remember a few years ago my brother noticing a bolt on the drive after reversing off, he had his clutch done and the casing bolts had not been tightened up.
