Headlight washer cover

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Anyone know how to fit one of these little panels. I managed to break the locating lugs off mine, bought a new one, but buggered if I know how I get it to fit. I tried activating the washers with the headlights on & then turning off the ignition, hoping this would leave the washer thingy exposed, but this didn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks in anticipation.

The washer is pushed out by water pressure, so you should be able to pull it out far enough to clip the cover on.

Get someone to operate it and catch it as it comes out .

You do get a wee bit wet but it works

Regards whoosh

Or just pull it firmly but carefully and it should come out. Had to replace one of my covers but was able to pull the unit out by lifting the whole panel forward. Needs a bit of force.

Sarge.

Just hook an Allen key behind the jet and pull it gently out. Then realise you left the cap out of reach whilst hanging onto the jet!

Hi all, many thanks for all your useful suggestions. Now I know how it works, I should have it fettled in no time. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing ( and saves you a fortune!)
