Monte tyres

Featured Replies

Anyone know what tyres new montes come with?

Is it still dunlop sp maxx?

My monte I got delivered in april came with Conti's, I Think its pot luck what you get depending on what tyre deal they have going on when your cars produced.

Not necessarily - depends on what's available on the production line at the time. Could be Continental Premium Contact 2s, or Bridgestone Turanzas, or another reasonable quality make.

Dunlop's Dec 2012 delivery.

Dealer also had another recently arrived Monte in the showroom when we collected ours but that had Conti Sport 2's.

TP

Conti Sport 2s on mine - December 2012

black ones delivered 29th December 2012 Dunlop sp maxx

Continentals on my May 2013 Monte.

Thanks all.

Just asking as I have sold my 2011 monte and the buyer wants original spec tyres on as part of the deal.

Just wondered what skoda are supplying now.

Thanks for the feed back

Conti SC2's are quite an "old" tyre; surprised they're still making them? Had SC5's on my vRS a few weeks ago.. Dunlops?

This.

Most manufacturers approve a number of tyres for a specific model so they have those ready for the automated tyre fitting machines during production.

...and sometimes you might see three different manufacturers tyres in a day for the same size if a high volume size. Great fun when some of the tyres behave differently through said machines (spent 4 years working with them). Not vRS/Monte size, but a certain Pirelli tyre was so sloppy on the sidewall, with the machine setup for Michelin or Dunlop it would turn the tyres inside out...

When Skoda changed my Originals tyres (Dunlop's) they put on Pirelli P Zeros.

This was under warranty to help stop the car pulling to the left. Which is now ok.
