Leaky Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've got 2012 VRS and after some particular heavy rain I noticed the rear windows had leaked (definitely wound all the way up) and a box in the boot was also wet.

Anyone else had this problem?

Very unusual, always thought the MK 11 was well sorted for leaks. Unlike the Mk1 who's rear door cards in particular were a nightmare. Only leak I ever had in a Mk 11 was the air vent seal down behind the rear bumper, (twisted) accessible by removing the rear light cluster and reaching in with a long reach tool. My wheel well filled with water and wet the back seat and floor too. Fixed the seal and no further problem. Hope you get sorted.

I often find the rear windows with manual winders just a ticky down.

Noticed when i hear the different noise, or there is what looks like condensation on the top edge of the window.

(but if it was not down you need to check the seals.)

I got stuff in the rear soaked the other day after hosing the car.

Normally never a problem.

The angle it was parked when i opened the rear hatch and the water poured down from the top rubber.

Check out the Fabia review on Honestjohn.co.uk. Shows there that water was found to leak around rear light cluster seals. Might this be the cause of a damp boot in your case?

Check if the holes or seal around door is blocked with gunk / grease as this will stop water from draining and fill the door , letting the water into the car

I experienced this on the previous fabia I had. only realised when the gap for the spare tyre was full of water.
