Secondary coolant pump

Featured Replies

Friday afternoon my engine management light came on, it had gone 4pm but the local skoda garage were good enough to have a look.

As a result the cars booked in on tuesday to get a replacement secondary coolant pump fitted. The guy at the service desk said the diagnostic scan had thrown up an error for that general area of the car, wether he meant a certain part of the engine bay or the coolant system in general i don't know. But so far I've been very happy with the work they've done so i booked it in for Tuesday. Was also told its fine to drive for the short-term.

I drove the car home with the engine management light on, this morning I start the car and as expected the light was still on.

I done approx 60 miles pottering around town and went for my dinner. After dinner i start the car and the engine management light doesn't come on, I've drove it all afternoon and its stayed off so is it possible the pump may have jammed but sorted itself out?

Is there anyway I can visually check if the pumps working?

Am I right in thinking now the light has gone off there is no fault?

Thanks in advance
