Columbus external temperature display

Featured Replies

We picked up our Yeti L&K about 2 weeks ago and love it, however we can't for the life of us work out how to display the outside temperature on the Columbus unit?

Every single Skoda I've ever driven displays the outside temp on the radio, with the exception of this one it seems. We've got the time to display (although this isn't permanent as it never reappears if you change the radio station) but can't even find an option to display the outside temp.

Obviously we can see the outside temp in the MFD on the maxidot but the radio eludes us. Anyone got this to work??

As a side, I noticed that the latest bolero unit on the new Octavia can not only display the external temperature but also the reception and battery status of a connected Bluetooth phone? Seems odd that a radio from further down the range can display more things than the supposed top of the range Columbus?

There isn't an option to display the outside temp on the Columbus. Maybe you're confusing it with the climate control temp?

confirming this too..................no optionto display the outside temp on the Columbus

No confusions here I'm afraid. Every Skoda radio I've ever seen displays the outside temperature I.e the temperature outside the car, on the radio screen at all times, along with the time.

It's a bit annoying that the Columbus doesn't do this, although more annoying for my wife who likes to know these things when sitting in the passenger seat!

Thanks for the confirmation anyway.

If you let us know which other cars have displayed the temperature (or time) then I'm sure other people will be along to have their say on the matter.

FYI, my previous Stream MP3 and Bolero (both in mk2 Octavia VRS's) definitely didn't show either the outside temperature or the time.

My previous Octavia MkII vRS with the Stream MP3 most definitely DID show the outside temperature for a start (on the bottom of the screen in the centre.) My current MkII Fabia vRS with the Swing radio also shows the outside temperature. Both radios show both time AND outside temperature.

Just about all loan cars I've ever driven from my dealer have all shown both time and outside temperature (and I must've driven every car in the range by now.)

The only two radios I've seen in recent years that don't show the outside temperature are the Bolero (although the latest model DOES show this) and the Columbus. Of course older units such as the Symphony I had in my MkI Fabia vRS didn't show either time nor temperature but it seems a step backwards that Skoda enabled such a feature then took it away on later radio models?

Outside temperature shows on MFD between speedo and rev counter on my Superb and not on the Columbus.

My Columbus & Stream MP3 both showed time but the Columbus won't show temp.

I seem to recall the Stream could though.
