Honda Civic Type R Supercharged

Featured Replies

I know its not a Skoda =P But here we go..

Regrettably the time has come for me to let go of my pride and joy. I have spent thousands on this in the short space of time i have owned it. All work has been carried out by top tuners such as TDI-North, Eightspeed and R-Motion. I have carried out some of the work myself as im a qualified multi skilled Engineer.

The basics

-Cosmic Grey

-JRSC

-04 Plate

-76k miles

-Full service history (Last service carried out by myself and R-motion but not stamped)

-Air Con, Reverse Parking Sensors, 6 Disc CD Changer, Front tweeter pack, Rear Tinted Windows & Fog lights

-Im the 4th registered owner.

-Premier Recaro Seats

-x2 Keys

I bought the vehicle last year in April 2012, the previous owner had the clutch replaced on 62k miles and i bought the car from him on 67k miles. Since then in my ownership i have kept every receipt and kept a diary of what has been changed on the date. Most of the old previous MOT certificates and tax discs have been kept, also all of the old service receipts from Honda have been kept.

A brief run down of what has been changed in my ownership.

28/05/2012 - Service - Oil Change/Filter/Pollen Filter/Spark Plugs (laser iriduim)

09/09/2012 - Both front Headlights replaced (previous ones were cloudy)

11/09/2012 - Rear Brake pads replaced

01/10/2012 - Front N/side caliper seized - Replaced (69k)

20/10/2012 - Brake fluid changed and Bled at BMW (my mate a mechanic there) 70k.

13/11/2012 - D2 Rear Camber arms + Eibach Front camber bolt fitted + FRSU @ R-Motion. (71K)

18/12/2012 - Piper Manifold + Sports Cat fitted @ R-Motion (71k)

- Tegiwa Induction Kit + Piper Cat Back fitted by Me.

- x4 Brand New Hankook V12 tyres

23/12/2012 - Oil Change , Motul xcess + OEM Filter by myself (72k)

13/1/2013 - Cam Chain and Tensioner + Valve Adjustment @ Eightspeed (72.5k)

07/02/2013 - JRSC/Energy Insert Mounts Fitted and Mapped by Paul @ TDI-North 304bhp.207Torque (73k)

02/05/2013 - FEELS Ti Cat Back Fitted with New gaskets from Tegiwa (74k)

08/05/2013 - Air filter cleaned out and Re-Charged using K&N kit (75k)

13/05/2013 - Gearbox Oil Change Honda MTF + Fuel Filter Changed Genuine Honda @ R Motion (75K)

In that time i had the rear bumper re-sprayed too and new Genuine Honda Battery fitted.

The timing chain wasn't replaced because it was faulty or caused an EML to come on i replaced it because i wanted everything perfect for the supercharger set up.

The Supercharger as stated above was fitted by one of the best tuners around TDI North. Mapped by Paul it made a healthy 304 BHP and the car feels every bit of that it genuinely is rapid. I also purchased the CPL Racing snout support brace and this was also fitted with the modded Auto Tensioner. They also fitted the Energy insert mounts whilst it was up on the ramps.

I have kept all of the standard parts. If the asking price or close to it is met then it can all be included in the sale and the car returned back to standard if the buyer wishes including the standard ECU.

The spec :

-Jackson Racing Supercharger 304bhp.

- 650CC Injectors

-CPL snout support brace

-Tegiwa Induction kit

-Freshly recoated cam cover by Bren

-OEM Wheels in black

-Premier Recaro Seats

-Piper manifold and sports cat

-Feels Ti Cat back

-Eibach ABP Springs

-D2 Camber Arms

-Eibach Front camber bolts

-FRSU

As with any car of this age there are some negatives. Mainly due to the soft Honda paintwork. The front end has some stone chips, the one wing mirror has flaky paint the size of a 1 pence piece. The rear quarter panel has a small mark. These are just small age related marks.

Im selling due to raising money for a first home.

Car is currently on a private plate, this will be sorted out shortly.

Thank you!

How much was insurance and how do you about declaring all the mods?

insurance for me was £1437. My insurance only add the premium for power modifications such as the charger, exhaust (full system), induction kit and the ECU. The handling mods didnt make much difference nor did the wheel colour change

Do you mind me asking why you are selling it as I can't believe that anybody would want to sell this car? I have driven a standard TypeR at Brands and loved it.

I require money for a house deposit mate. This car has had alot of money spent on it and i really dont want to strip it because its been put together so well it would be a shame. Trust me if i didnt need to move out i would be keeping the car as i love it to bits, spent so much money on it too.

Just to say GLWTS Dan, and if his last car his Skoda Fabia VRS was anything to go by it will have been regularly cleaned polished and looked after at no expense spared.

I'm gutted for you Dan but exciting times buying a house, my keys are due on the 19th July :)

What you thinking of replacing it with? Gonna be a big step down, but will you cope?! :D

  • Author

Thanks guys I will be gutted as its a great car but need to put some money in the house savings bank lol. I still want a relatively quick car so probably get a cheap celica vvti for abit. I really do fancy a leon cupra k1 but they are house deposit money :(

I know they're french but renaultsport clios can be had for not much dosh

and are a two litre back wheel cocking hoot. I've seen them for under 2k

with xenons lately. (Track day car daydreaming on auto trader)

  • Author

i cant drive clios, im too tall and the pedals in french cars seem way to close together for my large feet lol. i know the renault sports are meant to be better made but id prefer to stick with jap for now :)

Will also give the standard headlights with it,

Cambelt and service just done. Bargain IMO.

You can have a lot of fun with one of these, only thing stopping me

is not having anywhere off road to keep it.
