New Superb Owner from an Audi S4 Bi-Turbo

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just parted company with my 1999 Audi S4 today and have picked up my 2.5TDi Superb Elegance. I'd just like to say many thanks as all my pre-buying questions were answered with a quick search on the forums! top job all.

However :-) after picking her up and playing with her for a bit, there are a few questions such as, does the sat nav unit come with a built in TV tuner ? or does that require more hardware... also, has anyone managed to program the electric memory seats? as I was sat in it for 45 mins and could I hell get the memory seats and the reverse mirror position to work :-O could just be a friday thing and another read of the manual will cure it :-)

Also, has anyone used a diesel tuning box (such as Tunit ect)? and if so which one ? or have people tended to use remaps from Amd and Star?

Anyway, I'm very very impressed with the Superb AND I got 30mpg driving back from the dealers... something I never managed in the S4 !!!

Odius

Skoda Sat Nav doesnt have the TV tuner as an option. And as far as i can recall you cant retro fit the Audi one as it doesnt have the option in the menu for the tv view.

Is the switch on the seats 'on'?

Cheers Lummox,

I must have been having a bad Friday - quick re-read of the manual made more sense. Although still haven't figured out the reversing mirrors :/

Hi Odius,

I'm a big Skoda fan, and a proud owner of a Super 2.5TDI AG Elegance. The trick with the mirrors (if I understand correctly) is that the right one, can lower it's glass in order for you to see the back right wheels (when you try to move backwards -"R" programme on AG), only if the mirror button is on the "R" position. Not in the "L", heat or folded position. My english is not quite good, but I hope you can figure it out what I want to say. If you want more explanations, just let me know.

As for the memorized seats ... yes, there is explanaible. You can memorize all the settings by holding few seconds (until a beep is played) any of the 3 buttons, labeled 1,2 and 3.

For reclaiming such a memorized position, you have to push simultaneously the two buttons: "Memory" and "x", where "x" is the desired programme (1,2 or 3). This operation can be done _only_ without engine running. I mean, _before_ using the key.

Hope this helps ...

This is exactly what the handbook says. Unfortunately it is wrong because it is written for a LHD car. In the RHD car it is the left (nearside) mirror which lowers so you can see the kerb when reversing. So when reading the handbook (and backseat's instructions) you need to substitute R for L and vice versa
