Rimblades - Alloy wheel rim protectors

Featured Replies

Hi,

has anyone used/fitted the following to there alloy wheels.

http://www.rimblades...rim-protectors/

I'm thinking of getting a set to protect my new Monty Black gloss alloy wheels. I think a set in white would look awesome as I plan to hi-light the tyre writing on the tyres as well.

anyone offer any comments to this.

thanks

p.s.

Im going to get the Rimbands (ones that are in the link) they require a tyre fitter to install them as they sit inside the tyre. but they also sell others which you can do at home, they stick on the outer rim, but they don't come in white :-(

thanks for the link. shame theres no one near to me able to fit them for me. I don't fancy trying it. unless you have done it and can advise how easy it was/wasn't,,,,,

Personally i would not waste money on them.

To fit you only have to be able to break the Bead without marking the Edge of the Trinity Rims, fit them, blow the tyre up again.

Or you go to a Tyre Fitter and pay the going rate and hope they do not damage the rim.

(at least you have your 'Rimblade' to hide that damage.)

so you don't recommend the 'alloygator' ones?

I may just bite the bullet and purchase the slightly cheaper rimblades that simply stick to the outer rim, they don't interfere with the tyre bead or possibility of causing a leak.

I just wan to make sure my alloys are protected for the 'just in case' days or when the wife decides to use the kerb as a parking guide.......

I find that if someone kerbs 205/40/17's it will be hitting the wheel higher than the bead/rim area where you have the protection fitted.

But if there is a chance of some protection from just smearing the kerb they would be worth it.

I would be going 'black' though.

Alternatively, you could just not hit the kerbs? ;)

And if the wife does then it's zip, zoom, straight to the moon!
