Leaking Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just got my first Fabia, a 1.2 TSI on a 13 plate, and very happy with the overall package. But I have experienced an odd problem - if the car is left out in a car park, park and ride etc, and it rains, there follows a serious dump of water on to the upholstery when the driver and or passenger doors are opened. It appears that water is getting passed the upper door seals and 'pooling' on the door frame seals before dropping on to the seats. The dealer has looked at the issue and says it is a design 'quirk' of the Fabia!

Anyone have a similar problem?

Thanks in anticipation

They tend to be pretty water tight. I have experienced the odd occasion when your experience can occur if the car is parked on a slope i.e the drivers door is higher than the passenger door or vice versa. Water can sit on the door seal and splash inside when the door is opened. It only ever happened to me in heavy rain and has not really been a problem. Hope it's nothing more serious.

Actually, it happens when the car is parked on the flat and on both sides. There is no excessive wind noise to indicate misfitting doors. My dealer is putting in a 'disrep' to Skoda UK and i will be contacting Customer Care shortly, but thought it would be useful to get the views of some other Fabia owners.

This is my first Skoda, having been a loyal Subaru owner up to now, but Subaru have discontinued the Impreza and their reliability is questionable on their new models - pity!
