Beeping sunroof

Featured Replies

Just came back from a trip to the dealer's parts department (headlamp converters for the France trip now on order) and after I had parked up, I realised I hadn't closed the sunroof from tilt.

Engine was already off but as I hadn't taken the key out of the ignition or opened the door, it would still close without turning the ignition back on. So I just turned the dial and it closed. But there was a beep. I thought it was something on the radio but turned the volume right down and sat there for a few moments tilting and closing the roof. On each of the closings, there was the same beep. Never noticed it before, nor on my previous Polo.

Anyone else get this? Does it mean anything I should know about?

Its a safety warning so you dont get digits trapped in the sun roof IIRC.

Really? Could do with being a wee bit louder if anyone at Skoda HQ is listening in!

strange, never heard it myself. must be a fabia thing

Doesnt do that on mine ?

I however had a problem with the sunroof not shutting flush after tilting it open during the hot day. Had to go for the 'slide open - then shut again' to get it flush.

Might be the heat but a tad annoying. Now I just open the car, drop keys into ignition and flick on the first setting so I can close it properly. With it closed 'not-quite-flush' it didnt leak water, but at speed the blasted thing whistled like crazy. Not a fan of opening a sunroof at 70mph, but with a clear road and cruise enabled I felt it was ok to reach up and twiddle with the nob :naughty:

My Polo was like that so in the Furby I always open the window a little before closing from tilt if I'm going at any speed so the pressure equals out more easily. So far so good.

It's taken me seven months to notice it (and I use the sunroof a lot, even in winter)!

Seems it is pretty sensitive to pressure, but it works :D

Good video that
