Front level sender needed!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently had some work done on my 05 Octavia estate - the front coils and shock absorbers were replaced by an independent garage. They told me that the front level sender is broken (the connecting rod ball joints are seized), and it needs a new link and sensor.

I have Xenon headlights, so obviously they no longer level properly due to this broken sender, meaning I get quite a few flashes from other drivers when driving at night!

Annoyingly these two parts are £127 from a main dealer! I'm not 100% certain I'd need a new sensor, but apparantly you can't by the link on its own.

Has anyone else had to replace this part, and could anyone recommend somewhere cheaper to buy it?

Any help gratefully received!

Thanks.

to be honest i dont see you getting it after market, i would say its a dealer only part as it's not mass produced enough to make pettern parts. i could be wrong though.

You could try TPS for a reduced cost OEM part.

Try to source them from vw or Audi parts - they use the same levelling sensor.

Try the wreckers too.

Thanks for the replies.

Tried TPS, but they only deal with trade, not private.

It seems very expensive for such a relatively minor part, so I'll keep looking, and will try getting quotes from different dealers.

I was looking for costs on www.skodaparts.com earlier this week.

I had a question so gave them a call and he agreed to offer me some discount too!

They are a Skoda main dealer (Bickertons) and due to the website they staff the parts department well so the guys are pretty clued up.
