2001 Octavia Door lock issue & wiring!

Featured Replies

I have looked at similar threads on hear but none seem to help my issue.

The 2001 TDI octavia we have keeps unlocking itself!

I have tried disconecting the front door key locks and the window multiplugs in both front doors but it still unlocks the back doors within the day? Also unpluged the drivers window/door locking panel.

So what other modules control door locking functions?

This car does not have remote central locking just central locking from drivers door.

I have removed dash on the hunt for another module linked to doors but I am not sure where it is located?

Also what is the relay to the right of relay 109? This has been removed an a wire has been inserted bridging two pins. Could this be linked.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure what the relay that's been removed & linked across, but I doubt that would cause your problem. Sounds like you have an intermittent short circuit going on. Have look for corrosion/ broken pins in the large multiconnector in the drivers door.

I have double checked the large multiconnectors and the is no corrosion and no signs of water ingress?

Also I have tried unplugging each multipin plug to see if I can work out where the issue is but it still unlocks the back doors during the day?

The must be another control module somewhere? I keeping looking hoping to find some bad wiring but nothing found yet.

Any suggestion welcome, Cheers.

Query 1 - Do all 4 door "lock pins" move to the down posiiton when you lock the car?

Query 2 - Similarly, does the tailgate lock when you lock the car from the driver's door?

If (1) or (2) gives a "no" answer, suspect the servo or wiring for the location that doesn't lock.

The front pax door does not operate, I have disconnected this lock and removed for replacement.

The other doors all operate from the drivers door key.

The boot also lock from the drivers door.

Even with the defective door disconnected the others are randomly unlocking.

I have tried disconnecting the others except boot and it still tries to unlock.

What do you think could be the issue?
