anyone know where I can get some short term CHEAP insurance

Featured Replies

I am currently using my 7 day free insurance for my new OCTY.

my old octy is still outside waiting for VW finance to come and collect it.

on thursday night I need to move the annual insurance to my new car, but this will leave my old one un-insured.

quotes so far are about £100-150 for between a week and a month.

All I really want it 3rd party fire and theft for a week.

after that week, my dealer has said I can go and take the car and leave it at them until VWFinance collect it.

Any ideas.

thanks in advance.

My 88k Berb was leased by VW Group Leasing and they collected it 19 days before the lease was due to expire, I think they are not fussed as long as the last payment has been made. They sent a chap from BCA car auctions to inspect it and then it was collected the next working day. Might be worth checking if they are prepared to collect early?

its not a lease.

I have terminated the finance having paid 50%.

this was the best way to get rid of my negative equity.

car valued at about 7k, finance outstanding just over 9k. managaed to get rid of about £2k of Negative with one phoecall.

I will chase VW tomorrow, although I still have my private plate which I hoep to get rid off by the weekend/monday as I now have the retention certificate.

Fair enough, I'd be surprised if a car with 96k goes back to the dealer network though, I think VAG Group Finance and VAG Group Leasing are effectively the same company, so would expect BCA to be involved somewhere along the line. Surely if you have terminated the agreement, they will be responsible for insurance too?

as far as I am aware, i am responsible for the insurance, tax and mot until they collect it.

Tax and mot are fine.

I will chase VW finance tomorrow, and if need be, I might go and take it to the local auction house myself.
