My second VRS!

Featured Replies

Hi all I've been here a few years ago back in 2003 when I bought a new fabia VRS. For some stupid reason I sold the car 2 years later and always regretted it as I've had nothing but rubbish since.

Now I’m back and the proud owner of number 100 fabia Vrs SE!!

But sadly the car has a unusable fault that I'm having trouble diagnosing. It has been back to the garage and because there not Skoda they don't seem to know what’s wrong, even though they have said it’s fixed, it’s not.

There is a loud and very noticeable vibration noise when accelerating between 2000 -2500 rpm. They said that a seal had gone which they have replaced but still the problem exists. Would really appreciate it if anyone knows what this could be and if it’s do able without the high cost of sending it to a Skoda dealer.

Cheers

Dual mass flywheel I reckon. That's the rev range where your

torque peaks and the DMF is working hardest to keep the power delivery smooth.

Done with a clutch replacement (I would as you buy the lot as a kit in some cases)

I'd expect it to cost around 5-600 quid inc labour. You should be able to get the clutch

and dmf kit from Eurocarparts. You can usually use a code 'brisk25' to get a reduction

on the parts. More or less double that price if Skoda supply and fit.

Find a good VAG independent and get them to take a look at it.
