Hi can anyone help please got a 2007 fabia vrs se and when accelerating between 200-2500 rpm there is a loud intake noise which also make the dash board vibrate.

Also the revs can sometimes idle at 1500 then drop to just above 1000 (still too high for a diesel) and then settle properly this happens intermittently.

If I can get some sort of idea what these problems are then I won't feel like the garage I take it to is trying to fob me off with something its not.

Quick check first is the throttle pedal, mine was a bit sticky at one time and had to give it a nudge upwards with my toe to free ! Got sorted after a service though. Goog luck if it's not that though.

Cheers for that it was the pedal that was giving the high idle.
