Odd error.... MOT tomorrow :-(

Featured Replies

Driving home very sedately this afternoon and the exhaust emission light came on amber.

Slightly poopy pants time since my MOT is booked for tomorrow morning.

I've got a VGate code reader and it popped up as -

Switch for tensioning strut stowed - F204

Sporadic 002 - Lower limit exceeded

It cleared at first attempt and didn't pop back on starting the car, but I've not driven anywhere yet, it's only idled for a minute or two.

A quick google brings it up as either and error with a convertable roof :nerd:

Or something to do with an N80 valve that's part of the charcoal fuel canister thingy.

Anyone got any insight?

Not having a good run with the VRS this last few months

Is it an EOS wannabe? :D

Well there was no "fetch angle grinder" follow up message.

Engine management light isn't a fail, as long as the fault doesn't affect the emissions it'll be fine.

Cheers I did wonder that.

Hopefully it'll stay off. I'll keep the code reader in the car and clear it if need be.

It stayed off on the drive to the MOT station so fingers crossed.

Had you recently filled the car perhaps even over filled it - which can cause an error regarding the Evap Canister on the TFSi.

Well I used to fill as much as I could, then a year or two ago I read about that causing an issue and I was more careful to only go to one click. Admittedly at the last fill up I did do two clicks without thinking. But it had been a few days and a hundred miles or so since I'd done that.

I suppose even if it's the evap it's not the end of the world.

It passed

One advisory on brake balance which my indy thought was a bit picky but front brakes have been cleaned now anyway.
