Hi, had my VRS bonnet and wings painted recently to remove some stone chips, the first time the paint was too dark and did not match, the bodyshop agreed to repaint these parts and told me they used a spectrometer to match the paint, the match is better than it was but still looks darker blue than the original, has anybody had their paint work done on their SE and how close was it to the original, its still not right and I would like it to match. But i don't want to keep badgering the bodyshop if matching exactly is not possible.

its difficult to post a picture as the difference is not as obvious through a camera, am i being to fussy.

To be honest I think it's hard to get a perfect match unless you go to a dealer, or the body shop is absolutely excellent. It could be that your paint has faded over the years also

they should be able to match it identically if its a body shop that is any good

the garage advised me that modern paint should not really fade, difficult, its my pride and joy. maybe i should consider a skoda bodyshop

we had the wing on a bora painted (perlecent paint ... changes colour) when it was a couple of years old and the non-dealer body shop matched that perfectly so normal blue metalic paint should be do able
