Hi my girlfriend has just took my car out and this problem has happened so I have not looked at the car yet and im gonna explain what I think is going on in girlfriend terms haha

basicly she is describing it like this she got out the car normally and when she came back to the car it was unlocked, don't know if she actually locked but anyway the engine light is on and a key light is flashing without the key in the ignition and when she puts her key in it just turns in the barrel and doesn't feel like it is clicking not going to postion 1 and 2 and start also all the eletrics work in the car for example windows heater stereo with out the key in also the car wont lock or unlock with the key fob.

sounds to me like the ignition barrel is eiher broke in the on position or something

can anybody shine any light

Thanks for the replies put a new switch on and was still the same after checking the barrel found that the cam wasn't turning inside so got a barrel from a scrap yard an put my lock on it and now it's sorted plus only cost £20 !! Germanbitz in Bolton defo recommended place for bits !!!
