hi all i sometimes get puff of steam(coolant?) when starting my 1.4tdi is this any cause for concern? i recently had the cambelt changed

Are you sure it's not just condensation building up in the exhaust? Are you losing any coolant at all?

many thanks for that ...that is what i thought it was exhaust condensation(ive never had that on any other car though)

Its a tdi. .

I dont think ive seen any diesel car start up without some sort of little puff.

if its white "steam" its most likely just started up a little on the lean side. .
