Octavia 4x4 broken rear springs

Featured Replies

Just completed a 60,000 mile service at 57,500 and dealer diagnosed both rear springs broken at the "bottom" end. Nothing seen by the untrained eye. On the road performance appears unaffected. Only change in road noise is a slight "druming" on smooth surfaced roads. Journeys are on Scottish Highland A and B class roads at or near legal speed limits and ,oderated by local road conditions. Rear suspension modified by Skoda at 9500 miles to cure a camber problem causing excessive rear tyre wear. Has anyone heard of a broken spring problem in an Octavia 4x4 under any driving conditions ?

Didn't hear anything about this being a possible issue in the time I had my 4x4

Oddly enough I priced up a set of rear springs on saturday for a 4x4 Octavia that had done the same thing. Parts currently on back order IIRC.

You're better off getting aftermarket springs for 100GBP..

That's the price range here anyway..
