Secondary Air Pump Problem

Further to a problem I had listed before with my Octavia:

I seem to have narrowed down the problem.

It appears that I am having a problem with a secondary Air Pump (06A 959 253 E) or (06A 131 333 C)

I checked a few dealers and I'm getting a price of €473 + VAT to replace it. This is more then I can afford so I was wondering if anyone new of any dealers in the UK or Ireland that can supply the part at a much cheaper price then that. 

 

On one of the sites I checked it gave the following information

 

 

In the case of a failed secondary air pump, the actual cause is frequently not to be found in the pump itself but instead the failure if often due to a sticking non-return valve between secondary air pump and exhaust manifold. 

 

With mine, the pump seems to just come on at random (when the engine is off) and this is then draining the battery.

I don't want to replace the pump only to find that its not the problem at all.
