flywheel ouch!

Featured Replies

well took the car to my mechanic today after 2 weeks of intermitted shaking and juddering and was told it wad the flywheel. got a quote for 900 euro plus vat. rang a few other place and got quotes from 580 to 1100 euros. my question is should I go soid or dual mass? funny thing is solid is working out cheaper.

Dual. Single could potentially destroy ur engine.

Dual. 100%

Yep, dual mass, they have got quite a bit cheaper recently. The difference in price between solid and dual has got a lot smaller.

Search the forum for DMF or SMF, should be plenty of info to read through.

DO NOT FIT A SINGLE

The DMF is designed to lessen vibrations, if you fit a single the vibrations can travel along the crank and snap it, I think a mate recently did this even though he won't admit to it and ended up with a con rod poking out the side.
