Monte 1.6 cr servicing question

Featured Replies

Does the Monte have a warning telling you when it's due a service (i.e service due in 1000 miles type message)? My Monte is on 12,000 but no service indicator so don't know if its now late for its service (car is 11 months old). Any advice on service interval appreciated

thanks

Unusual. Mine shows a spanner when about a 1000 miles away from the multiple of 10K.

if i remember keep the folder pressed next to the reset button for a few seconds should show how long for service none maxidot

Thanks, that worked but it says 6200 which means i'd have done 18,000 before service? it'll go in next month anyway as its a year old but it does seem strange

Some later fabia's are set for variable servicing. Check your documentation to see the code that came from the factory, this can be found in your service book. Mine is set to QI6 which is variable. However I am on a 3 year fixed service deal.

Codes for fixed servicing are: QI1, QI2, QI3, QI4 according to service book on page 5. Reckon yours will either be QI4 (Service annually or at 15,000km), or as mine.

Hope this helps.

QI6 is capable of variable or fixed

it can be set and changed as required

Does QI2 mean it is fixed onlyor can it be switched to variable? 11 plate 1.6 tdi 105 if it matters.

Some cars/engines become available & are given the code for 'Fixed Service' say by Skoda.

2 or 3 years later, the same engine then changes to 'Variable Servicing code'.

*As happened last year with Fabias.*

Same engine, no mechanical changes, and the VW car/engines which were identical were already Variable.

So basically if the engine is variable now and no different from when first released,

you decide.

Talk it over with the Technician or someone that knows and change oil as the car is used,

because people use cars differently.

Long Life oil and not Long Life are not exactly much different in price.

Changing Filters is rather an important factor in things as well.

(then people worrying about what Skoda think and Warranty etc.)

QI2 according to service interval booklet page 6 states, As per service interval display, or 7500km, or 1 year, so fixed.

My preference is to get the vehicle serviced annually as I only do a small mileage.
