fitted 40 mil h+r but only getting 30 mil. will it settle...?

Featured Replies

hi folks as said above today fitted h+r 40 mil springs, took measurements before and after and only getting 30 mil all round will they drop a wee bit more in time.?? another query is im taken the fabia to get the geometry done soon but how many adjustments can be done on the front axle... i believe that the rear axle has no adjustments.. cheers folks :sun:

it should settle a bit :)

Mine are the same. Doesnt help I hardly drive the car so the suspension isnt getting worked as much.

Day

Toe and camber on the front.

It should settle a bit, you might find it drops more on the drivers side if you regularly travel alone.

Where are you getting the tracking done? What sort of tracking gear do they have?

was going to go to kwik fit cause they have a whole new digital set up for wheel geometry settings but i suppose its down to the person doing the settings and i think there a bit more expensive than other places....what do reckon haggis i know kwit fit isnt to popular on this forum.

I would seriously suggest you avoid the Flik Fit Dancers/prancers/romancers.

Go to a proper garage with trained Mechanics/Technicians.

Any pictures of the car now lowered?

Hi mate,

Kwik fit may have the best machine available but if they don't know how to use it then it really doesn't matter how good it is. I'm not slagging them off as there may be one really good fella that really knows what he is doing, I seriously doubt that's the case but you never know!

I took my standard suspension setup vrs to a guy local to me near Falkirk, his bread and butter is suspension geometry. He does a few other jobs when he is quiet but it's 95% suspension setups. As soon as you speak to him you realise he knows what he is on about. My car only needed a small tweak on the drivers side (which others might not have bothered about) but it's made the steering far better. He is also a skoda vrs owner which is nice.

Find a place with a hunter tracker machine and google them to see what's on some forums, it really is worth the effort. Failing that skip on a boat and head for Falkirk, I will buy the first 2 rounds!

Pro grip by any chance?

Pro grip by any chance?

Indeed sir!

I saw you at the lithgae bridge light a few weeks ago, I always admire your car when I spot it. You wouldn't have noticed me in my low mileage (it's only done 150k miles in 2 years) discreet berlingo van. The wife takes the car to work so if its going slowly to or from polmont its usually not me lol. You on trackscotland much?

Do you frequent pro grip? Johns a good lad.

Get a car full of mates and go for a drive on some twisters, or a fatty in the boot.

I've tried it before, works well. (Not the fatty in the boot)

is it 40mm lowering on a vRS or 40mm lowering on a generic fabia?  If the vRS is approx 10mm lower than a normal fabia that might be why you have only seen a 30mm drop.

Dont you mean you heard me? :giggle: most people hear me before they see me. And tbh you could have been driving a panzer tank and i still wouldnt have remembered in the slightest. Is it a vrs youv got?

Nope never used him but alot of my car friends all use him, hes regarded as one of the best in the country

You were sitting in a queue at the lights so it wasn't too noisy. Yeah, bought westerns demo car, black one with polished wheels.

John really knows his stuff and will do a custom setup which a lot of people can't
