Been running fine but his morning won't start. Battery is fine. When turning the key clicking, dash lights flashing and funny noise which the husband thinks is the starter motor.

Anyone any ideas?

He has been trying to locate the starter motor to give it a chap in case there is some grit or something in it but can't find it. Is it under the battery?

Any advice would be much appreciated before we head to the garage tomorrow.

Tried bumping it and its running.

Try disconnecting, cleaning and remaking the electrical connections to the starter and the starter solenoid before going to the hassle of actually taking the motor out & testing it.  Disconnect the car battery first.

Aha, turns out husband was wrong! Not the starter motor, just the battery :-)

Now I can stop worrying about the drive from Glasgow to Newquay on Saturday!
