Couple of newbie questions...

Featured Replies

I've been helping my sister out with a couple of things on her 2004 fabia 1.2 with only 19000 miles...

I'm a regular user of a couple of Saab forums so know how invaluable forum help can be.

A couple of questions.

1. When starting the car, first key turn puts dash lights on but no life from starter. Second turn and fires up immediately. Any ideas?

2. Very musty smell. A/C and pollen filter seem fine. Any known areas where drains grunge up?

Thanks in advance

J

1. I had a similar intermittent problem with mine a few years back, had a new battery and CAM sensor since not it doesn't do this any more, unfortunately as it was intermittent I could't tell which cured it.

2. Probably due to leaking back doors...have a search...its a well documented problem.

Thanks - I'll search for back doors as you suggest. Really stinky! But can't find any dampness.

Put some kitchen roll and press down on floor behind front seats, remove mats first as they rubber backed. If they have let water in, the carpet will probably be damp.
