Where the bloody hell is it!?

Featured Replies

I need the help of you wise fellows, I'm looking for a 12v power supply under the steering wheel.

I read on a thread that all you need to do is undo 2 torx screws, remove a plastic panel and hey presto, there are some live terminals.

I undid every torx screw and still couldn't remove any plastic panels.

Managed to get a torch in a gap to view behind the plastic but couldn't see what was looking for.

My intentions were to get a live feed to power an amplifier without having to drill a hole in the firewall.

Can anybody confirm if there is this said row of live terminals on all fabia's? because I couldnt see it on mine.

Thank you :)

ive not seen any when removing the lower half of my dash ??

however there is a hugeeeeeee grommet behing the glove box which you could run wires through

you need to remove the drivers side lower dash panel, there is the main bus bar behind that which supplys the whole car mate

Thank you, is it a suitable place to get the 12v power feed for an amplifier?

make sure it's a switched feed and not permanatley powered.

Well, I need the permeant power feed, and the switch for the amp (usually blue) going to the back of the headunit so that it only comes on with the ignition.

doesnt the standard hu already have an amp output / socket

Its going to be wired to a symphony head unit (standard) and I have had to buy a mini ISO to give me the ability to wire an amp.

The amp is going to be powering a sub woofer and needs a rather large power feed cable going to a direct 12v power supply 9 times out of 10 directly attatched to the battery. I read the above guide but couldnt find the power supply under the steering wheel.

The amp output on the headunit is the switch live so that it comes on with the ignition.

I think I'm going to give up with the under steering wheel power supply and try to go straight to the battery through the glovebox.

Hopefully this works out!
