DAB reception

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

this afternoon going round the M25 I completely lost DAB reception.

On the stations that had an FM equivelant it switched to that (which is actually quite a good idea) but I just wondered if anybody else expereinced the same problem.

Good weather equals high pressure which is a bane for DAB and TV signals in 'moderate' reception areas.

So 28 degrees on the M25 would have affected it.

oh well.

thanks for the response.

I find HGVs can cut out DAB reception -I think that some of them are broadcasting something that causes interference. No point in asking if there were any lorries on the M25

We are also close to the sunspot cycle peak which won't help matters.

Another strange thing I find is if I put my phone on charge in the centre consul below the head unit it can cut out the DAB -I think it's actually my charger as it doesn't seem to happen with the phone being there otherwise. (I have a DIY DAB installation btw)  Any chance your phone was downloading updates or anything?

I doubt any updates happening.

Fortunately I have loads of music, and FM, so not the end of the world, but I do like talk sport and it is so much better on dab

Jumping on the back of this thread. Does anyone else have really poor FM reception in their Octy iii ? Most of the time for me the DAB is fine, but FM is lousy and I can't get the traffic updates on DAB....
