fuel filter connector problem

Featured Replies

Right I'm in a spot of bother I think. Mk1 Octavia vrs service carried out today. Just oil, filters etc having owned the car for 7 years I thought I would change the fuel filter. Had some trouble with the jubilee clip ( snapped it off in the end ) but the push button connectors on either end came of no bother. However, when I've tried to push the short one from the tank back on it just slides right back off. I can't seem to get it to click and hold on. The other one is fine. I've dowsed it in wd40 but it won't stay on. Please someone tell me the connector can be changed? HELP!!!

Got a horrible feeling they can't be changed and It's a new pipe, hopefully someone will reply who has had the same problem and got over it without changing the pipe.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. Searching the forum seems to suggest tank needs to drop down. The clip doesn't look broken it still pushes in and out but just won't clip on.
