Replaced resistor on fan.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.....don't know what's wrong now, but a few weeks ago the fan stopped worked on my Fabia, only worked on 4. Took it to a garage and they said the resistor needed changing, they replaced it and it worked okayish up until this week, now it works slightly on 3 and 4, but I cannot use it because there is a loud clanking noise coming from it which you can hear outside, have they ripped me off and replaced the right thing ?? any help grateful please ? and where do I go from here ?

Sounds like you have a secondary concern. Either the fan is faulty or one of the balance weights has come off. If it sounds like a bi plane is under your dash you may have drawn debris into the motor, quite often happens with parking tickets.
