Octy III VRS at Goodwood impressions

Featured Replies

Just had first taster of the VRS's up at Goodwood. Really disapointing that the offside exhaust port on the TDI VRS is a fake - thats just nasty,. Just behind the nearside ports you can see the TDI twin exhausts. The petrol gets proper split twins from what I could see.

The seats feel like the nylon from the inside of trainers -  fne weave polyester type shiny stuff, not so impressive.

Inside, The steering wheel is much nicer, grippy and multifunctioned,  The  usual equipment seemed okay.  In fact, the car felt like I was sitting in my own VRS mkII allbeit a bit shinier! So they have kept the character,  but unless it is an insanely brilliant drive, I dont see any point upgrading soon. At least until it has gone through its teething phaze snagging list and there are a few second hand ones on the market to be snapped up.

The performance figures on paper don't look big enough to make much difference over the mk II VRS in real world driving. So I dont think I will be having one for a couple of years.
