I'm a bit confused that when I enter my reg here..

it specifies Castrol Edge 5W-40 (1.8 TSi Petrol) when everyone on this thread recommends Castrol Edge 5W-30. So what's the difference?

The same link specifies Castrol Edge 5W-30 for my 1.8TSI. That oil is the correct VW spec - ie 504 00 - for variable service intervals.

Castrol Edge 5W-40 meets spec VW 502 00 which is correct for fixed service intervals. If on flexible service intervals, exceptionally you can top up once only with a maximum of 0.5 litres of that oil.

Hi, I have a 2004 1.9 AWX TDI Last October I parked it up as since getting it (1 owner service history) it has had timing kit and new turbo and then the dmf and gearbox needed fixing I was unsure if I was going to keep it but I think I might now as only 105k. Question is should I syphon the fuel (1/4 tank) been sat since October or should I add biocide and top up? Whats the risk and how realistic is it of causing damage if I just run it on the diesel thats in there and do nothing to it? @r

Struggling to find anywhere exactly what oil type my engine should be using. The owner manual says "ask a specialist garage for the correct engine oil", which is bizarre - can't the manufacturer of the vehicle just tell me! On a previous with a dealer, they put in "Edge Prof LL IV 0W-20". I've just had a service via the RAC today, and they gave me the remaining oil in the tub, and I've just noticed it's "0W-30" and also says "VW 504.00/507.00" specification. Hi all. About a month ago a picked up my first car, a 2016 Fabia. The dealership noted 'applied lubricant front window mechanism' Since driving it the past month, the window was become very squeaky! Hi everyone, I have browsed this forum frequently in the recent weeks to research for my new radio. I am confident in installing it and also a DAB window antenia. I was wondering if anyone has installed a microphone with their radio (for bluetooth calls) and how they did it. My radio came with a microphone included. Thanks all.
