Need some help urgently

Featured Replies

I noticed yesterday that my indicators decided to work intermittantly (mostly not at all though). After a bit of searching on here I have ordered a replacement hazard warning switch/relay to sort the problem.

On my way home today however the car started behaving a little oddly. First it felt a little down on power, then I had the ABS warning light come on a few times, then everything went back to normal including indicators etc.

Got home and scanned for codes and got the following:

16804/P0420/001056 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold

16519 - oxygen (lambda) sensor B1 S1:heating circuit malfunction P0135- 35-00

16946/P0562/001378 - System Voltage: Too Low

Now seeing as they all seemd to be pointing towards low voltage or low signal I popped the battery cover off and found this:

Now this has me a tad concerned. Ive checked all connections, ran the engine for a while so see if the cable is getting hot and it doesnt seem to be. So what could be causing this? and what is the solution?

Must admit it has me a bit edgy about using the car for work tomorrow as I dont want to be sat at the side of the road with the car in a ball of flames.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I was just about to say your battery or altenator may be at fault here. This happened to me in my works van quite a few months back, hazard lights kept coming on, abs light, service light, radio switched off, lights off and so on then eventually the engine cut out. The altenator turned out to be goosed and wasn't charging the battery. Apparently the system works out what to switch off permanently to try and save more battery life.
