Bought my vrs from Eardleys at Crewe,very nice people,no problems,I however live near Fleetwood,85 miles away,they rang me today to remind me its time for its first service,and when I want to book it in.Nice people though they were,why would they think I would do a 170 mile trip to have a service,when there are obviously much nearer dealerships,is this normal,I just dont understand,they know where I live,and it would cost approx thirty quid in fuel,and nearly a full day,I just dont understand,are dealers that desperate for business?

You will just be on the database, nobody will even have looked at where you are based. It would have just chucked out a reminder and someone phoned you 

 

What's to say though that you may not make the trip? I did a 530mile round trip to JKM for a map, maybe their nice attitude at sale time would have rubbed off on you and you may have gone back but I suspect it's the first option.

Home address is just that, you could work next door to them or live there on occasion.

 

Which service is it due for, the first?

If it is, its just an Oil/filter change that gets done really, anything from around £85-£110 might get quoted,

or the £129 if its going by 'Skoda National Pricing'.

worth trying a haggle with your local place..
