vrs top boost pipe

Featured Replies

I spent ages trying to get a company to make a single piece silicone pipe up for a reasonable price but evwntually gave up. Instead I went for mainly metal option if you like it is available in group buy. Hopefully will have more pics of it in car when i get egr delete on after my failed attempt last weekend.post-68315-0-42643100-1374092012_thumb.jpg

arent metal pipes better than silicone pipes anyways? does look good though

I asked question other week about metal pipes i think temperature transfer wise its negligible, but its obviously more rigid. This is just the prototype to get bends and leg lengths right. Proper one will be single aluminium pipe.

Is this to replace standard intercooler pipe and poor connecting boost pipes coming off the EGR and down the l/h side of the engine?

If it fits a BLT car I'm interested price dependant.

And if it will fit to my Forge FMIC setup.

I'm interested, once you've got hard figures inc coupler, can you post an update on this thread please?

Don't suppose you are looking at bottom boost pipe in future are you?

Same as above for me then plus a timescale maybe

Bottom boost would be my next step plan on replacing the pancake pipe aswell so that it will just be one solid pipe. I was waiting to see ho many people were interested before getting them made up but i would say the pipe itself wouldnt be more than £40, the coupler at the moment i got off ebay from creation motorsport and had to file down the lip as it was designed for silicone hose.

This is just from egr to side mount, not sure how blt setup differs.

As for time scale I could probably get a few made up next week of the top pipe and i should be at the national meet.

I'm not going to the meet but now im on a PC I can see your from Sheffield so that makes my options in the future easier.

How is the coupler secured to the pipe itself? Would you provide the coupler or just the pipe?

You have two options with the coupler, you could buy it yourself ans connect it like I have done on the protoype using a jubilee clip. Or if i get it, it will be welded to the aluminium pipe.

Update tooling is almost done for the coupler so will see how that fits when i go down, also i would say welding of coupler is needed as mine has popped off a few times with prototype pipe.

Will be going to get the top pipe finished on tuesday I think and see what the coupler is like that they have made up. I will get a definate price and try and sort something with the lower boost pipe.

Anyone interested pm me and if their coupler is good i can get a couple pipes made up and bring them to national meet.
