Can you set the service indicator between the different plans .i.e think mine has been done on the fixed plan before I had it but as I do 15,000m a year nearly all on motorway I think I want to go to the variable plan as services should be further apart and cost are cheaper. I'm due a 80,000 service in a few weeks and am getting it done at a trusted local garage will they be able to switch it to the variable plan or is it a dealer only job?

If they've got good diagnostics kit they should be able to switch you to variable service scheme - but make sure that they use the correct oil for variable service.

 

VCDS has the ability to set variable or fixed service.
