Airbag light - how can I reset? battery pull or vagcom only?

I have got airbag warning light,   because I stupidly had the key in ignition (engine off) whilst pulling and checking all the fuses one by one.

 

 

Can I reset this via a battery pull,  or does it need to be vagcom only?

I don't think a battery pull will clear the fault.  VCDS needed.

Unfortunately an airbag fault is one of the few faults that need resetting with VCDS.

Thanks guys,   you were right,  battery pull didn't clear the code.

 

 

Luckily I managed to find my ebay vagcom cable and cleared the fault code
