I fitted a columbus to my 09 octy Vrs ltd edition everything worked without coding other than on maxidot display it doesn't show u direction arrow when on nav and when on phone it had bluetooth symbol in middle and a square either side.

The problem I'm getting and I don't know if its just started is when streaming music the h/u will not allow u to control the phone .

Any ideas. (Posted on ice thread but no joy)

Do you mean switch tracks and albums you can't do this via Bluetooth streaming you can only control the phone via mdi

On the Columbus and my old bolero with the oem Bluetooth u can control the iPhone via the head unit .

I think I might need to get it coded.

Ticking nav in the gateway equipment fitted list should solve your maxi-dot problem, not sure about the Bluetooth issue.

That sounds odd. I'd have thought that the module would allow you to at least skip tracks, stop tracks. But also to allow you to browse for albums, playlists etc? I assume you can browse the phone book? What phone are you using?

Bolero or iphone software? And now you can skip tracks, browse playlists, artists etc no probs?

Columbus software. I don't know that its possible to browse playlists but I can certainly skip tracks etc via the columbus or steering wheel, which didn't work before.

Can you still use the iphone to browse playlists, select albums etc whilst it is connected to the Columbus? So the Columbus is basically putting the iPhone sound out of the speakers but you retain full control of the iPhone?

Yes I think I need to get it coded as it worked fine with the bolero and works a treat it my wife's new superb se + Amundsen +

Can I upgrade to maxi dot & MFD?

How much trouble would all of this be?
