HELP! Sidelight bulb dropped inside headlight unit

Featured Replies

As per the title. These bulbs are a PITA to change and having spent £16 on a set of Phillips LED bulbs to match my 4300k HID kit.

Of them has fallen out into the headlight unit. :(

No amount of poking around with the pick up grabber type tool can reach it and I'm fearing a bumper off job to remove the headlight and shake that fecker out.

Any pearls of wisdom as my patience is wearing somewhat thin

Meant to say I've posted in here for a wider audience i own a Roomster.

you got a magnet you can grab with the grabber, mate and try that?

Vacuum cleaner and suck it out?

No magnet Lee. The difficulty is with the aperture of the hole is so small.

I'll try some garden hose attached to the Dyson and see how I fayre. Trouble is access to the rear of the unit is very restricted.

Strip the head light out and rattle it out, seems a crap way of doing it but it'll be the easiest way

As I said, I'd rather not go through the hassle of taking the bumper off to remove the headlight to shake it out.

As I said, it'll be less hassle in the long run. Bumper removal is pretty easy, just lay it shiney side up when it's off

Do you have a guide for Roomster Scout bumper and headlight removal??

.

Bit of blutack on the end of a piece of flexible plstic strip. Just be sure the the blutack is well attached to the strip so it doesn't end up in the headlight with the bulb!

Meh!!! I am victorious. Much better access to the sidelight aperture through the wheel arch liner. Fished that fecker out.
