JOM Coilovers On VRS.... Any Reviews?

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I'm looking at a cheap set of Coilovers for the VRS, petrol if that makes any difference.

I don't want to spend a lot, and the JOM ones from DPM seem to suit me on the price front, but are they any good?

Any comments from someone with experience of these would be very much appreciated?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Obviously you get what you pay for and most people on here would suggest spending upwards of £400 on a set, me on the other hand I have pro sport coilovers fitted to mine and although they are a cheep option are very good. I looked at getting jom's but I decided to spend just that little bit more.

My coilovers were £200 delivered and I also brought different droplinks, I'm more than happy with the quality And the ride is firm but not uncomfortable unless you ask my other half who is rather big chested lol

Thanks for the advice :)

Also liking the sounds of the AP coilies.. I read good things :)

I have the APs on my car and the handling is epic but I'm afraid to say the ride is a bit poor. I do have 19" alloys which won't help matters though. I'd definitely recommend them though, for the price you can't go wrong.

Thanks, think the APs are the ones to go for.

Hopefully as you say it's the extra inch of rim you have which is making it a bit uncomfortable.

How low have you gone?

Not sure exactly in terms of mm drop, but the arch gap is uniform all the way around the wheel if that makes sense.

So you have a photo I can look at ? :)

I read all the reviews and ended up with APs. Getting fitted Thursday... After speaking with Damian @ DPM, he told me to go down the route of APs. Springs and shocks wouldn't have given me enough drop and APs are meant to be pretty comfortable in comparison with the FK highsports I was looking at...

I drove FK Highsport almost 3years, and they where much comfortable. Stiff and bouncy in Low speeds on bad road, but hey, thats all Coilovers at rock bottom. I can recomand Highsports for comfort, even in Low ridehight :)
