skoda 120L on ebay

Featured Replies

I love the way they say it's mint and immaculate then go on to describe the dents and rust.

Wonder why it would make an ideal restoration project if it's already mint and immaculate. 24000 miles my ****.

Dont know, must be true as they are giving you ALL the mot's from when the car is new has only had one owner and apart from the drivers seat the rest of the car is in good nick for a nearly 20 year old car. The car has proberbly done lots of short journeys though, hence the seat damage caused by getting in/out.

The mileage is believable.

It was probably broken down so much over the past 20 years that they couldn't drive it more

Just round the corner from me :D

Would a 130PD engine fit? ;)

Cool, I tried to get a 130 rapid once on ebay but was out bid lol

You could use whichever of Jason's assortment of engines he decides not to fit to the furby

D'oh - good point.

Would indeed make an interesting trackday project - especially with a big stoopid engine shoehorned into the back of it.

damn missed it :(

Looked like a genuine car to me - pity it didn't sell :( Would make a good project if only I had the space and the time - oh and some money

It did sell a very good friend of mine picked it up tonight. They now have five Skodas sitting on their drive a Fabia VRS a Fabia 1.2 Silverline an 87 Estelle 130LSE an 86 Estelle 120LSE and now this one!!!! It's got all of the delivery pack intact and every single MOT + service history to verify the mileage. Fantastic!!!!

The older cars were reliable enough compared to what else was on sale at the time , I work with someone who has driven nothing but Skodas for years and he had no serious troubles , he now drives a mint Felicia estate , and one of his sons has a Felicia hatch , I doubt they would have those cars if the Estelles they owned were rubbish!

Tend to think the old ones were solid cars, just very basic.

 Very basic...just how I like cars to be!:D

Allows more skope for customization hey ;)

Anyway older simpler cars were better, less to go wrong. Can you imagine an older car built with todays manufacturing knowledge, those things would go on and on and on... as the advert goes :p

Yep, the old ones were built to survive some seriously bad roads and weather, the only reason Skoda became such a laughing stock was because they were cheap (snobbery) and they looked sh*te!! nothing at all to do with reliabilty.

In all the years I have been on the road I have never seen an estelle or any rear engined skoda broken down on the side of the road or on the back of a breakdown wagon.............have you?

Can I just endorse this? I have only ever driven Skodas (so far notching up 1 estelle, 2 favorits, 1 felicia, 3 Octavia Mk1s and now a Mark 2 Octy L&K) and I never had a bit of bother with the older cars other than a puncture and a broken headlight bulb. My dad had 3 estelle's and all he had was a clutch cable that snapped - but being such a simple car he sroted it with a pair of pliers in 15 minutes. My Octy 2 is 4 months old and although the car itself seems sound, the radio had to be replaced within 2 months and the second one is starting to show the same erratic behaviour as the first.

So let's not assume that old is bad and new is good :)

Domhnall

Id really love a go in a rear engined Skud , especially a S110R , i think they look really nice , If I was thrown into a Life on Mars style timewarp , Id be having one of those!!
