Measuring Block 013 - Can Anybody Test?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can somebody with a BLT engine please test 013 in vagcom and see what values they get for each cylinder?

The car has to be warm and just stood still at idle.

Along with another forum member I'm chasing a rough idle issue and we get one value thats higher than others.... but dont know if its normal.

0.13, 0.32, 0.25, 1.30  is roughly like what we get.

Thanks

Block 04?

It was 0.0 and I have tried -1, -0.5, 1 and 0.5

No luck and indeed some of them made it worse :(

hi my blt engined ibiza is the same

Have you got the smaller gasket in the egr pipe ?

BLT engines are mapped to run very lean at idle for euro 4 emissions, ive recently completed an egr system removal and it improved the idle.

Does turning on the lights and a/c improve the idle ?

Hi,

Yes I have the gasket (from dealer).

Turning on ac and other electrics seems to have no effect.

Could a good mapper change the idle to be richer?

p.s. although that modified gasket fixes the hesitation, is it known to mess up idle?

Not normally as per my other post its the warm up fueling, do check the engine temp with vcds i bet its not getting to over 90 deg

I can't believe there are no replies so far to the request for readings!

Here are my car's Block 13 readings, with the engine idling smoothly at 840rpm and coolant temperature of 83.7 degrees C.

-0.49, -0.35, 0.54, 0.26.

Block 4 - Synchro angle = -1.1

The car has done 63794 miles, is on its second cambelt, and has the modified EGR gasket fitted. A VCDS scan was all clear. HTH.

Thank you DGW - your time taken to get that is BIG TIME appreciated!!

If you ever suffer a crappy tickover get that cam set to 0.0 rather than -1.1
