Went to another dealer today to see if they can beat the offer I was already given.

They couldn't come anywhere bear, they where at best around £1500 more expensive.

The guy in the dealer tells me that due to the 0% deal, the amount if commission issued to the dealers has been dramatically cut,

He claims their normal magin is 14% but they have lost 6 or 8% can't mind which. Thus the most discount he could do was reduced from almost £2500 to £700 and that was leaving them at cost price.

So he has quoted me and anyway, I've been back to original dealer (whom dealer 2 thinks isn't aware of the loss of revenue %). And he is ringing be back tomorrow with a confirmed price, seemingly the same big discount as previous.

Yes, sounds about right.

I got a quote on a petrol hatch and you can get a better deal if you don't take the 0%.

FWIW - my dealer mentioned the same thing

Mine too. They lose 6% with the 0% finance, so they've only got 8% to play with.
