BONG... Bluetooth help please, before a heart attack happens.

Recommended Posts

My phone is OK on Bluetooth in a vRS, not often i have a Smart Phone in the car,

and the BONG when i start the key is annoyingly loud, but me being mutton jeff its not a problem.

But,

Started the car and went to reverse and a passenger just about had a heart attack as the car BONGED 'Phone'.

So without any messing about with the links of phones already on the car.

How do i get the 'Bong' noise a bit less loud?

Is it in 'Maxi dot and phone' or just some of the setting on the Radio, beside Gala, Loud etc?

cheers,

No nothing to do with radio volume, that does not even need to be on to get the 'VERY LOUD BONG'. & "Phone" showing.

In reverse the radio/music has turned down if on, because it is set to go low to hear the reversing sensor noise..

the BONG never bothered me, or ever has,

it was a passenger that freaked,  so i thought i better ask before going messing.

I think it is to do with the bluetooth volume, but to be honest I turned it off as soon as I got the car. With VCDS before you ask :-)

Which volume, one in the menu?  The radio can be off & it does it.

Not had a smart phone in the car over the weekend but i will look at it later.

EDIT< will get it switched off later on the VCDS.

at least i now know the Ring Tone can be changed.

Never looked at that before.

fletch555, thanks that sounds so easy, but as i pointed out, it never bothered me, a passenger about had a flaky.

Fast draw to turn sound down on the BONG as you start the car and as you switch it off is beyond me.

It mostly happens as i am reversing anyway.

If i thought i had a phone in my pocket and thought i must turn down the sound, before it makes a noise,

then i do not need an audible warning the phone is connecting,

It is now not making a noise.

DOH, Sorry,

i see what you mean, you can make the adjustment to reduce it for the next time if you do it as it BONGS.

(Decided that someone is maybe been turning it up full thinking they are funny.)

Still staying off but thanks everyone.

EDIT,

The steering wheel volume control turned it down OK as it was.

But then if you leave it up high from your call, its up there loud next time.
