Front parking sensors

Featured Replies

Phoned dealer to see if we could add parking assist to the order (2.0 elegance estate) I only want it for the front sensors, the thought of not steering the car myself to park slightly freaks me out.

Anyway, we were told its too late to modify the order as our build is scheduled for week 36 (was week 37). However, the dealer told us that Skoda have recently made front sensors STANDARD for the elegance!! Although in a way I'm not holding my breath as things keep changing.

Re the chrome trims we can't have - they have been pulled because they have been oxidising and turning white in countries where they have them. So lucky escape really, would've hated that.

So right now, alls good in the hood!

Wait - the front ones are standard now?! Can anyone else confirm this?!

Which I assume will not be added to VRS spec as a standard?

This is what my dealer said. He tried to change the order on the computer system and it is at that point that he told us the front sensors are standard.

I would be happier if someone else can confirm that this is the case

It's the elegance I'm talking about

Congrats on getting them - Lucky :)

This spec adjustment on the MK III just gets better each week - No lesson learned from the Rapid then !!   :wall:

Somebody should save the first OctyIII brochure, and then look at one 12 months later to see the differences...

I have had mine for just over a month and would have loved front sensors, but there wasnt such a thing when I ordered.

I did read the forums, but I did not want to wait six months as I needed to chnage to save upcoming expences. This now seems a false economy as I could have got more on the car, and 0%.

Oh well, we live and learn.

I've been on the Configurator and it is not specific whether its front and rear or just rear sensors. It says 'park distance control' which could mean anything. Maybe front assist is standard which is nothing to do with parking. Hope my hopes aren't raised for nowt

Park Distance control is effectively front and back, which was available when I bought mine, but that is way more expensive than front, and rear sensors.

Mmmmmm

Man of many words Ryan. Is that a sceptical mmm?

I've got a call in to the person I've been speaking to at Skoda UK about this and the Steel Grey paint so I'll come back with some answers directly from the source as soon as I can.

Yeah a skeptical mmmmm

Just checked the online builder, it's saying for t assist is standard in elegance, it's the system that auto brakes when you try to crash at under 30mph

I really hope that's part of the specs of the one I just ordered an hour ago.

Mistake made by man in dealership. As suspected he assumed front assist was parking sensors. Sorry to raise hopes unnecessarily, I've been talking out of my backside

I really hope this is correct, it'll make me very happy to see them on mine and pleased I didn't go for the park assist in the end!  :)

It was a vicious rumour started by my dealer which is not true. Sorry!!

I still dont understand why they cant do JUST front sensors.

some people may want to know what they are going to hit, without letting the car drive for you.

Yes I agree. Might fit them at a later date

Might be out of profit reasons. If they can get everyone to pay extra for the add-on it would be far more beneficial than nursing the consumer into thinking things like that should be standard equipment (for the same cost).

Just to confirm - spoke with skoda just now and no front sensors without park assist and certainly not a standard option
