Timing tools?

Featured Replies

Tools for doing the timing on the pd engine? Theres a camshaft locking tool i can find, but ive seen some kind of plate the allows you to find tdc on the crankshaft?

Basically ive done yhe head gasket and arl head bolts. And need to re-time the engine up. But havent got the tools. Anyone know a vw tool part number or have a link to another brand? Cant find it anywhere.

Alternatively, if you have a method, let me know :)

Can't recall the tool number but I bought mine from Laser tools. Worked a treat.

T10050 is the genuine tool number.

Watch it as there are two different types of tool for the PD engines as the later 1.9 and 2.0 diesels have oval crank gears.

Just realised ive posted in the wrong section probably. Its an axr engine code. This the tool for the crankshaft?

Moved to Fabia 1 section for more exposure.

I take it these only go in at a certain position? I.e. they go in only at 'top dead center'

There is a mark on the tool and one on the gear. They line up and the the tool locks in.
