sunny days

Featured Replies

hello folks,

been searching and searching for info on a sunny day problem i've got with my 1.9tdi octavia. if the car has been sitting in the sun for a wee while i get a really loud throaty roar when moving up from 1st to 2nd gear, i get a slightly quieter roar from 2nd to 3rd and very little from 3rd to 4th. i've been in with the dealer a couple of times, but sods law- no noise as it was dull out. the car runs as sweet as a nut in the cold and damp, the problem only arises in the sunlight. any ideas folks??

fantastic, sunny hot weather so my car sounds like a jet plane taking off! I don't know much about cars at all, just passed my test recently, so i would be thankful of any ideas as to what makes my car so noisey on sunny days. Needless to say, after 10 miles or so the really rough sound goes, so by the time i reach the dealer you don't hear it, mind you most people i pass on the way can hear it- the sound is a real head turner
